Lake Como
The lush countryside was known as „Larius“ to the ancient Romans, and has enchanted artists and travellers alike over the course of the passing centuries. The influential french author Flaubert wrote here, as did the renowned musicians Gioachino Rossini and Giuseppe Verdi. And it is here that Vincenzo Bellini is said to have composed his great and tragic opera, „Norma“.
